With painkiller properties the songs balm your woes, like an aspirin dissolving away to nothing in a luxury substance. Hypnotised and sedate, songs tumble through a warm front to become extraordinary in their beauty. Everything Simian Ghost do has a translucent quality, a lightness of touch, that belies the fact that there are indeed rock guitars, bass and drums being played here.
