CAPE CANAVERAL

A wooded mountain area. Twilight. A clandestine detective in a cream mac scrambles through the dusk. Far from the nocturnal drunkenness of a familiar metropolis, he hears a freight train rumble through a distant valley. Summiting a peak, the PI stumbles upon a secret, cult-like party on a derelict space base. A party imbued with the stench of immorality. Welcome to ‘Cape Canaveral’. Uncharacteristically restrained, the track channels the wiry, agitated style of David Byrne. Calling to mind The Whitest Boy Alive or Phoenix with its guitar-led groove, it’s a further example of Pizzagirl stylistically breaking beyond the bedroom-pop confines to blossom as a songwriter.
