Hailing from Cincinnati, Pomegranates sound like they’d be the house band in indie-heaven. Their immaculate arrangements capsize into movement after movement of floaty riffs that most acts would dine out on for years, yet they treat them merely as fleeting transitional vessels to service the track as a whole. Effortless, precise and deserving of cult status, each innovative sonic plot-twist sounds suspiciously like divine intervention. In contrast, the vocals harbour an element of possession; a semi-spiritual, semi-mortal voice that preaches hope above everything. File under: unearthed gem.
