Cruush Release Rupert Giles

Updating their trademark hazy sound to something a little brighter, bolder, and solid, cruush release Rupert Giles  and announce Double A Vinyl.

Cruush’s sound is potent and tender, and sincere to the point of snot-crying. Or as the band themselves put it, “gross, awkward but pretty fucking rockin’!” Its music forged in the drudgery of service jobs and rainy Manchester nights, buried in cosy blankets  of indie-rock fuzz, yet somehow sprouting through the rusty layers of sheet metal that should prevent it from blooming. Collectively, they have a kind of sonic survival instinct. “Over the last 12 months, we’ve had a lot of letdowns. We felt it was a pretty dull year with creative setbacks. However, it made us realise how much we can depend on each other. That’s how a band should be.”

“On a writing retreat to Wales we took a sunrise hike up Penygader. We listened to nothing but Neil Young, Brownhorse, and the Van Halen song ‘Panama’ We were sitting by this lake at 6am, with the sun rising, listening to it and all felt well. We knew we had a great song written, we were all sleep deprived and sweaty, the stars were aligning.”
