Picking up extensive international press and acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian and The Times, the sweet-tooth cerebral pop of Sweden’s Simian Ghost is co-produced by Thomas Hedlund of Phoenix and it shows. Hope, optimism and an all-encompassing knack for melody allows them to double down on the dream pop genre to produce dream-within-a-dream pop. On this collection, the band introduced a self-aware disco element which softly allows for a more beat-driven approach all controlled with a signature lightness of touch meaning the dial remains firmly on ‘tasteful’. Budding with adolescence, the overall sound spills over into that invincible feeling of being young and so alive.
