Tribal polyrhythms and vitreous textures, LoveLikeFire are a refreshing blend of late-90s, keyboard-driven indie-pop and über-hip Williamsburg rock. Able to enunciate and articulate the torment and rage of longing better than most, LoveLikeFire once again pull out the crunchy guitars and a driving, heart-pulsing backbeat of their debut. While this collection offers more moments of dust bowl downtempo, the snarl and wit of a band built for the chorus is never far behind. More laidback with an early 90s shoegazey feel, the songs are bolstered by the occasional throbbing bassline and urgent repeating drum fill which adds more immediacy to the impending swell.
