THE BIT BETWEEN THE TEETH

SKINT & DEMORALISED

15TH APRIL 2013 | HEIST060 | ALBUM

DESCRIPTION

The sound of signing on and heading down to Wetherspoons after, Skint and Demoralised hail from Wakefield, Yorkshire. Within seconds of this collection starting, Leeds United player Billy Bremner is referenced and we’re down the pub with regulars reading papers, barkeeps smoking tabs, a fruit machine idly blinking in the morning sun and a dog asleep in the corner. Matt Abbott is a poet first and singer second, hence the mix of melody and spoken word. Able to shine a light on the grottier side of existence and double up the excitement of mundane motions, the storytelling takes twists and turns through bookies, broken noses and lost loves.
